PASSi Certified Nurse Aide
Program Description: The Certified Nurse Aid Training Program offers an introductory study of the principles and procedures used by nurse aides in long-term care facilities, home health settings, and hospitals. The focus is on basic human needs and care of the elderly and elderly with health conditions/ impairments. Integration of skills and concepts is acquired through hands-on clinical experience at a long-term care facility.

- Program Length: 5 weeks
- Program Dates: 10/7/2024 – 11/8/2024
- Pre-requisites: Able to read and write at a 6th-grade level or higher.
- Training Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm (Theory and Lab); Thursday and Friday, 7:00 am to 2:00 pm (Clinical)
- Skills Learned:
•Demonstrate through written, oral, and laboratory skills an understanding of the role of the Nurse Aide, including activities of daily living and restorative care
•Utilize the clinical experience to gain proficiency in nurse aide skills and tasks
•Demonstrate caring, supportive, and safe care of patients/residents
•Perform tasks related to the personal care and comfort of patients/residents
•Demonstrate effective communication with faculty and patients/residents
•Work cooperatively with other nursing and healthcare professionals
•Preserve and protect patients/resident’s autonomy, dignity, and rights - Industry-Recognized Credentials:
•Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation [CPR] Certification from the American Heart Association
•Nurse Aide Certification from the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP). - College Credits(s) Earned: None
