Smart Energy Technical Training Program (SETT)
GET READY, GET SETT, GO SOLAR!
An 8-week tuition-free career training program for participants to learn solar installation, electricity basics (commercial and residential), worksite safety, and job readiness. The training includes hands-on simulation lab, career readiness and industry professional instruction.
- Training Provider: OIC Philadelphia
- Program Length: Eight (8) weeks
- Program Dates: July 15 – August 15, 2024
- Pre-requisites: 18 years of age or older, High School Diploma/GED, Valid Photo ID (For SETT, PA DL preferred). INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC PRE-REQUISITES: Able to climb a two-story ladder, Able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 3 pm
- Skills Learned: The curriculum is designed to help participants gain essential skills and knowledge to secure entry-level positions in the energy industry: Solar Panel Installation, Electricity Basics
- Industry-Recognized Credentials: OIC Certificate of Completion, endorsed by PECO and Solar States, OSHA 30, Iron Ridge Certificate of Completion, Installing Pitch Roof-Comp Shingle Course and Opportunity for the certification exam seat for the NABCEP Associate Credential.
