Full Circle: Phlebotomy Technician and Medical Secretary

  • Program Description: Full Circle’s Phlebotomy Technician and Medical Secretaries Vocational Training (PLTVT) program is designed for the entry-level job seeker. Phlebotomy Technicians are sought-after professionals in hospitals, doctors’ offices and laboratories. After Full Circle’s PLTVT program completion, participants will have the credentials needed to invest in their future and prepare for a rewarding career as a Phlebotomy Technician and CMAA in many national and regional companies with competitive salaries and benefits.
  • Training Provider: Full Circle Computing
  • Program Length: 17 weeks
  • Program Dates: 10/17/2022 – 2/16/2023
  • Pre-requisites: High school diploma or GED required; Background check is required prior to program admittance; No Felony or Drug convictions more recent than 7 years ago; No Child Endangerment or Abuse convictions; Ability to pass Drug screening; COVID-19 vaccination required (2 shots); Valid driver’s license recommended — most Phlebotomy positions require it as part of hiring preferences; Additionally, many of the hospital systems in the Philadelphia region require a health screening prior to employment indicating applicant is not a smoker. CASAS testing required (Recommended Scores: 215+ Math / 228+ Reading)
  • Training Schedule: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday pattern from 9:00 AM – 3:45 PM. First week of program is all in-person training at Urban Affairs Coalition at 12th & Chestnut in Center City, Philadelphia. After first week, all Mondays are online; Tuesdays and Thursdays are in person.
  • Skills Learned:
    • Phlebotomy training with National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam testing to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician
    • Training in Medical Office Procedures with NHA certification to become a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant
    • Opportunity to train and become certified in Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association
    • Training in Medical Terminology and Medisoft
    • Labs, Clinical Practice days, Skills Building, Literacy
    • Career Workshops and Resume Re-Invention included!
