Program Description:
Throughout a 12-week instructor-led, live virtual training curriculum, students will obtain contextualized, in-demand IT support skills and connect with hiring partners to start their career in Technical Help Desk, IT Support, and related technology roles. Successful students will earn the CompTIA IT Fundamentals and CompTIA A+ certifications, learn modern business communication, and creative job search skills. Students meet each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30a-4:30p ET and participate in engaging, live virtual training sessions with an instructor and their peers. The remainder of the week is reserved for one-on-one tutoring and mindset coaching, study groups, self-paced interactive learning, practice exams, and more. Students will take the certification exams during the program and may be eligible for exam retakes should they need an additional attempt. More than 20 partner technology organizations actively source graduates for relevant IT support and technical help desk roles. The TechWorks employer partner network consists of some of the largest IT staffing and consulting companies in the US, including TEKSystems, Robert Half International, and Insight Global. After the program, students may continue to receive on-going, relevant job leads for open IT positions.

Program Length: 12 weeks
Program Dates: October 15,2024 – January 3, 2025
Pre-requisites: A minimum of a high school diploma, as well as digital literacy skills and foundational technology experience is required. Customer service experience preferred. Dedication and motivation are highly desired.
Training Schedule: 9:30am – 4:30pm ET each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 12 weeks. Tutoring, group work, and self-study required outside of class.
Skills Learned: TechWorks relies on an intentional student curriculum and end-user experience that prepares students for two industry certifications: CompTIA IT Fundamentals and CompTIA A+. Additionally, modern business communication, job search strategies, and IT career exploration content is integrated throughout the curriculum.
The CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification covers six core competencies that lay the foundation for more complex concepts found later in the curriculum:

- Applications & Software
- Software Development
- Database Fundamentals
- Security
The CompTIA A+ certification is comprised of two exams and covers nine core competencies that are important to the daily work of many Computer User Support Specialists. Students will also use the Virtual PC Builder to complete hands-on, simulated hardware assembly activities to reinforce the skills learned in the virtual classroom.

TechWorks provides a robust blueprint of services to assist all participants in career navigation and readiness including targeted job searches, responsive resume development, and mock interviewing. As the program nears completion, and after graduation, students are provided opportunities to connect with these employer partners for open job opportunities.
Industry-Recognized Credentials: CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+
College Credit(s) Earned: Successful students may qualify for up to 21 college credits with a partner educational institution, such as Indiana Tech University, if choosing to enroll in a degree program with that organization following graduation from TechWorks.
